November 07
"Know that you are my one and only. I will miss you with every beat of my heart…I love you. I always will. Goodbye.”
Excerpt from Sara's note as she leaves Grissom, despite accepting his proposal (Season 8).
Sigh ...
I told Hubs: “The best of women are those that please you when you see them, obey you when
commanded, and who safeguard themselves and your money in your absence.”
(Tabarani, Sahih)
Then I asked: Do I fall into the category?
He answered: Yes certainly... no doubt...
Orhh ...

The cuppa used to be waiting for me, until I told him I’d make it myself. Little did I know the job would already be half done. And thus, this never fails to greet me whenever I’m about to start my all-night-long vigilance.
Where can one ever find a man even half-good as this?
And I am so blessed with one whole!

...
I came across something which made me :
Amateurs started Google and Apple.
Professionals built the Titanic.

Yes … for the second time. Sheesh.
I was driving home when suddenly there was a ‘plop plop plop’ sound. Immediately, Hubs was on the alert. He called out, ‘Bunyi apa tu? Tayar pancit lagi?’
We were lucky. We were near the exit and I came off the highway near Bartley Road East (or something like that). We all trooped out of the car and yes, true enough, the tyre was heavily punctured. Bleh …
Amidst all these, and despite being stranded for a good 30 minutes, we were lucky for the following:
1. We were near an exit.
2. It was not raining, nor scorching either.
3. I was NOT alone! Phew.
4. We just had brunch, so we were not grouchy, hungry or irritable (rather, it was an adventure for the boys).
5. It occurred while we, and NOT Ibu Ros, were using the car.
6. We had many helplines.
7. We had our mobiles (with charged batteries) with us.
8. SuperBapak came to the rescue!

I have just checked something that I have been dreading and realized that God has been so very kind. Hee. I’m happy . But I have just re-read something that I realized that I have misinterpreted at first reading. Would God be as kind as before now? Gulp. I’m anxious .

Women like
to be told repeatedly – I repeat – REPEATEDLY
– how, despite their flaws, they are loved and how much. At least, I do. And so,
when Hubs said something to that effect to a half-conscious me this morning, I had
him repeat what he said – in b/w.
®يازكاتراز said (10:30):
Luv you ibu... luv u sooooo
much... you my one and only... luv of my life
I you
too, Ayah!

Imin's just shed the very first milk tooth. Already, in its place, another one is growing. Ho hum. Someone is growing up. From boy to man. I do not know WHAT to feel.
September 11
It's amazing that how children, as young as 5, are capable to condition their mind to meet societal expectations and perhaps, it may be argued, demands.
I'm very impressed with the way my boys handle their fasting - Imin has absolutely no issue at all. The first day, though, at an hour before break fast, he was frightfully pale. But as the days go by, and as his body begins to react to the detox process, he appears to have had no problems at all. Since the fasting month started on 20 August, he has only one half-day lapse - and this is all due to the temptation of seeing his brother indulging in day snacks.
Pau2 is a slightly different story. For the first week, he only managed half-days, but going on to second weeks and so on, he takes everything in stride. I do receive calls in the middle of the day; Mak telling me that Pau2 is whispering to her that he is 'thirsty, Mak .. I'm very thirsty'. Most of the time, I am adamant that he continues with his fast and most times, Mak has been able to distract him. I have to note, however, during weekends, the issue of 'thirst' has never crop up. Hee...
I also marvel at how my boys have no issue when it comes to terawih almost every other night - no fuss, no tantrums at all. Imin faithfully follows his Ayah to the men section and does his best to 'imitate' the steps of prayers. I believe it is imperative that young children be conditioned to view this Ramadan-nightly practice as something of a neccesity during this holy month.
So, yesterday, we decided to give the boys a sumptous treat. Where we used to restrict their intake of sugary delights, this time, at SAKURA, we let them go loose, to have the fruits of their labour, to indulge whatever their tongues may fancy :)
.: While waiting for the magical hour ... and examining the different types of foods available. Notice his left cheek - a bruise. A momento from his road accident almost 2 weeks ago .. and still bruising.
.: I'M EYE-ING YOU, O FOODS!
Our first furnitures ...
.: The SOFA with two faces.
It's old but still sturdy. It's surprisingly very comfortable; often all four of us would sit side by side in comfort silence whilst watching family programmes. It also used to be the boys' 'playground' - when they were younger, they used to pull down the cushions and arranged them so that the cushions became 'river', 'staircase' etc.
Much abused, with with so much love - this sofa.
.: The Table and Console.
The Table, we do not quite like - although in its heyday, it's glimmering white and looked spectacular. The Console - ah well - hardly ever used, except to put the DVD players. The drawers have remained very bare since Day 01.
Hey, I bet we are the one of the rarest breed to still be using a non-flat screen TV! Hee... that's saying a lot for a family who does not advocate the picture-box!

Ibu Ros first told me about it in the car last evening – she heard it in the morning – but then she said, she was uncertain of the authenticity.
BERITA @ SURIA later confirmed the news.
I cannot help but feel a distant sense of loss. I’ve always marvelled at his deep, throaty and soothing lyrical voice – especially when he did Asmaa ul Husna. Every other day, I used to hear his version in one of the early morning TV programmes. I’ve never met him in person – I’ve never had the inclination nor do I now, had he not return to his Maker.
But I do feel for his wife and six children. Such sudden loss – no pre-warned signs or anything – it goes to show that the inevitable journey to the land of the promised is ever waiting to take flight upon anyone … anyone at all, and at any time.
With the timely coming of Ramadan, perhaps this may serve as a lesson to us – it is a jolt for me, at least.
That today, or even the next minute, may be my very last.
Al-Fateha for you, dear brother …

The day I lost my Samsung, was also the day I got it back - 10 hours later.
From the place where the person found the phone (o thank you so much!), I could only deduce that the one who 'took' my phone, the one who had hung up each time I called my number (grrr) had miraculously 'lost' the phone him/herself. And it had been picked up by the one who eventually returned it to me.
Sigh ... God works in mysterious ways.
Amin!

Have you ever had those moments where you just went totally blank?
There were so much to do, so much and many that require your attention, AND you were well aware of it. Your mind ran through the things that needed to get done, that required action. You knew you had to get things in motion – you could not afford to not do anything at that point of time. You were aware of how time flew slowly – albeit surely – in your face. Hey, the darn big wall clock was staring straight at you. You saw the time. It didn’t wait for you, that’s for sure. You saw that it had been an hour … an hour since you had sat there, and just sat … and stared. There were just too much to do, that you were unable to pull yourself in action.
Ever had that kind of ‘blank’ moment?
... August 02
Which one should I get?
Hee ...
.: (a), (b) or (c). or All of the above.

Kakak (Mak's eldest child) got married to Abg Taufik on 18th July 09. It was a memorable event - partly because as a family, we all played important roles. But mostly, it's a celebration of having another member to the clan.
Congratulations, Kakak & Abg Taufik!
.: At the Solemnization ... check out the Dusun Girl who was pinching Imin's face. Pau2 must be fretting that no one was fussing over him this time.
.: At the Dinner ... picture perfect.
.: At the Tea Reception ... boys in dymanic blue stealing the show against the soft oranges and reds.
July 29
These days .. nights… what fatigue-ness. Many things in this tiny mind of mine, so many issues – school, work, assignments, objectives bla bla - I wish there’s like a pay-service to a machine or something where I can unload all the burden (imaginary, even!) and come out like a new person. Sheesh.
This morning has been no different. It started with a deep throbbing pain in my head that threatened to slowly accumulate to an explosion. I struggled to read my text in the train but the more I tried, the more the words swam (in circles) and ran (haphazardly) – it appeared that they (the words) were determined NOT to stay in one place for a miniscule second for me to make sense of what I was trying to read.
Finally, I gave up and closed my eye and tried to will the pain away. No better.
I came to work. I saw my colleague. There was a trolley between us. We talked – she told me about her meeting last night, I talked about my tutorial last night. The trolley felt cool. And good. To emphasize my point on my fatigue, I rested the side of my head on the trolley.
We talked. The trolley felt cool. I felt better.
Suddenly, I heard – from behind me: ‘Oh my God! You’re here!’
We both stopped talking and I turned around. Another colleague of mine was standing at my cubicle with some papers in his hand and was looking at me. He said: Yeah, I thought I saw you just now. Then I came here. I was looking for you. I can’t see you. I thought that red thing was a towel or something. Then I heard your voice, I didn’t realize the towel or tablecloth was you!’
Ha. Ha. Ha.
I had to laugh.

.: The 'towel'.
